Home for Homeless

If you have food in your refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep you are richer than 75% of the world.

The cost of bringing a child in an orphanage is USD $ 150.00 per month. This amount is calculated by taking the total cost for food, toiletries, shelter, clothing, services, and dividing it by the number of orphans hosted in each center; consequently, the money that is donated to a sponsorship orphan does not go directly to a single child, however, the money goes towards the costs of running the orphanage of that child.

Global Orphans Trust – Strategic plan and it’s Importance

  • —To establish realistic goals and objectives for GOTAHS.
  • —Define the time frame within the organization’s capacity for implementation of these goals and objectives.
  • —To ensure the most effective use of the organizational resources by focusing the priorities.
  • —Provide a base from which progress can be measured.

Plan 1

Statistical Study of Poverty Trends between 2000 to 2011

  • UN, World Bank, and BBS estimates are based on the Cost of Basic Needs (CBN) method
  • The base year for the CBN poverty line was 2004-2008, which was then updated for 2011 changes in the cost of living using a price index
  • Difference with Sen/Mujeri estimates is the use of unit record data verses grouped data and different non-food poverty line used as a base year

The concept of Zakat involves donating a portion of your wealth to those in need. In a very simple sense, in substance, that Muslims look out for each other; It serves as a means to create awareness among Muslims about the status of the Muslim Ummah (Muslim community).
Zakat al-Fitr
Zakat -ul-Fitr is for fasting Muslims to give food or money on behalf of fasting people. The head of the family pays this amount on behalf of each person in the family. If he is responsible for his mother and father, then he/she has to pay Zakat ul Fitr for them too.
